Featured Item ~ Puzzle Piece Pendant
I had a lot of fun trying to make this piece, I think it turned out quite well too! I was inspired to make this piece through a friend of mine as both our children have Autism. The rainbow puzzle piece I created is a mix of the Autism Logo (the puzzle piece) and the awareness ribbon (lots of different coloured puzzle pieces).
I hand drew the puzzle piece and then cut the piece out before sealing it in resin. The finished pendant measures 5.6 x 6cms and is featured on a silver-tone chain measuring 47.5cms.
Postage can be via Registered Post ($4 flat-rate per order, within Australia) or Express Post.

Supporting Australian Handmade
I started the Australian Handmade Sharing Facebook Page in December 2012. At the time I was aware of quite a lot of like pages, wahm sharing pages, etc all over facebook. However I was unable to find one that offered completely FREE services for Australian handmade hobbies & businesses.
As a WAHP myself I know how hard it can be to get your business started, especially with the way facebook runs these days. Australian Handmade Sharing is dedicated to helping all Australian handmade hobbies & businesses get there voices heard and their beautiful creative items seen.
Any Australian handmade hobby & business may post photos, shares links, sales, etc on the facebook page at any time. In addition; myself along with a few volunteer admins may share your products photos and post like ladders, etc. For the best chance of having your page shared I suggest interacting with our page frequently. Those who share our posts with fans/friends (publicly) will get priority when the admins share. As the page grows so will the chances of getting your products seen by potential customers.
The Australian Handmade Sharing blog is set up for any handmade business to run competitions (as there are very tight rules on facebook!), do guest blog posts (telling us more about you, your hobby/business and your products) and to further our fan base.
Advertising spots will be rotated frequently, call outs will go over our facebook page when a position becomes available. To increase your chances of being provided with a FREE advertising space I suggest interacting with our page and sharing where possible :)
The motto of the page is:
Share ~ By sharing your page, products and our page we can all help each other iuncrease our potential customer base.
Support ~ Show your support for all handmade hobbies/businesses, it all starts with us afterall!
Like ~ Like any pages wish take your fancy and you may receive a like in return ;)
Have Fun! ~ This is the most important one.... we all have to have fun!
Thanks for reading :)

SALE!
As many of my friends are aware, my boy has had more than his fair share of issues in his short life. We've seen a huge range of specialists at the children's hospital in Perth (PMH). Over the past two month's we've seen most of them and received some great news! My boy has been discharged from Ophthalmology Haematology Surgical, Neurology, Gastroenterology and just yesterday he received great scores for his hearing test! The only specialist left on his list for PMH is ENT!
To celebrate this awesome time I am having a store wide sale in our online store! www.hand-made.com.au/neckart

World Prematurity Day 2012
This is something very close to my heart; both of my children were born prematurely. My eldest was born at 30 weeks after PPROM (Premature Pre-Labour Rupture of Membranes) at just 28 weeks in to my pregnancy. My second little boy was born at 34 weeks due to Pre-Term Labour (Spontaneous). Both boys have some ongoing issues after their early arrivals, but are relatively healthy considering.
Please do your bit and support the premmies!

Please do your bit and support the premmies!
Taken from The National Premmie Foundation
Saturday 17th November 2012 is World Prematurity Day and the National Premmie Foundation is once again participating in the international campaign to raise awareness of preterm birth. Each year Worldwide 13 million babies are born too soon. Approximately 23,000 of these babies are born in Australia. We want everyone to honour the 15 million babies who struggled to survive this year and over 1 million babies who sadly lost their fight for life. The rate of preterm birth is increasing and yet the general public knows little about the prevention of preterm birth and the problems and risks involved in the development of a preterm infant. Preterm or premature birth, birth before 37 weeks gestation is the second leading cause of newborn death globally. Babies who survive an early birth often face the increased risk of health challenges such as breathing problems, cerebral palsy, intellectual disabilities and many other hurdles. For many families, preterm birth brings with it neonatal or infant loss. So we want you to join the campaign to raise awareness of the issues these vulnerable newborns and their families face. The National Premmie Foundation is a founding member of the World Prematurity Network. This means we have joined together with March of Dimes (USA), The European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants (Europe), LittleBigSoul (Africa), Bliss (UK) and Home for Premature Infants (China) to raise awareness and change the lives of babies born too soon everywhere.
For more information, please visit the National Premmie FoundationHow you can get involvedWe are asking people throughout Australia to get behind World Prematurity Day.In 2011, the Empire State Building was lit up purple and it will do so again in 2012 with other buildings from around the world. This year in Australia, the Questacon building in Canberra, is lighting up purple. You can be a part of our “light it up purple” campaign in Australia by purchasing a National Premmie Foundation candle and lighting it at 7pm in your own home.
